Sexy Viking Vixen Halloween Costume (Size: 2-8)

Did you know that after Christmas, Valentine's Day is the biggest retail holiday? That means a variety of things for you the consumer, but mostly it means the market is saturated with a plethora of heart-shaped, cutesy, not so worth it products. I have a philosophyone that is not always popularbut here it goes. If you love someone, then saying "I love you" is a full time job, not one accomplished by dime store shrink-wrapped chocolates and plush toys holding bags of candy hearts.

Don't get me wrong. These things were great when we were 10, but we are adults now so here are a few ways to ensure you have a classy holiday that shows you put a lot of thought into it.

The key to success if knowing your significant other's tastes and not stepping on a land mine in the process of telling her how much you care. Yes, this article is geared mostly towards the men out there who are trying to get it right this year. However, women, you can take heed of this advice as well because I don't know a man alive who wants a teddy bear holding a cheap satin heart.

1. Ask yourself "Do I know her tastes well enough to buy a personalized gift?" We are going to help you sort this out, but you have to put your mind to it too.

2. What is your budget? Financial troubles as a result of overspending on Valentine's Day are not going to help your romantic life.

3. Always be classy. You don't have to spend a fortune to achieve style.

We have broken the choices down by the major items generally purchased for Valentine's Day. This by no means is an all-inclusive list, but will put you on the road to victory.

Chocolate:

Does she like it? If not, then obviously skip this traditional gift.
Does she have a favorite brand? Or favorite ingredient?

Whatever your answers to those questions, do not buy shrink wrapped, generic chocolate. We are not a big fan of the heart shaped, fake lace and Elvis velvet. You know what I am talking about. Now avoid it! A simple, elegant box with a nice ribbon is much classier.

Flowers:

Does she like flowers? (Remember some people are allergic to certain flowers)

Does she have a favorite? There is not a rule that says you must buy red roses. I happen to love yellow roses and it would be a sign to me that my mate understood me if he bought me yellow roses instead of traditional red.

Jewelry:

Now talk about a land mine. If you are determined to buy jewelry, consult her friends and family to find out what she likes and wants if you are not absolutely positive. Good jewelry is an expensive proposition to screw up. Avoid heart shaped anythingplease, I am begging you. The act of giving her the jewelry is saying "I love you," there is no need to tattoo it on her forehead so to speak by giving her a heart shaped necklace she feels obliged to wear all of the time.

Dinner or Brunch:

  1. Go where you will both be comfortable.
  2. Make reservations to avoid waiting.
  3. If you want to try something new, go somewhere that you both have wanted to try.
  4. If you are nervous about a new place and you want the perfect evening, check out the place ahead of time.
  5. Be yourself. For example, if you are not a wine expert then ask for help from the staff. We women like a guy who will ask.

Or be daringdon't go out to eat. If you are not a very good cook, order take away from a local establishment (not fast food or pizza) or hire a personal chef, and put your time into setting a beautiful table. She will be very impressed that you made the effort.

Lingerie:

Oh yet another land mine. Do you get the feeling this holiday was meant to test the best of relationships? Be careful here. Your fantasies may not be her desires. And please, please, please again be classy not tacky. Cheap lingerie does not say "I love you." It says "I'm cheap or you are a tramp." If you aren't sure about this one at all, then make it a partner activity. Tell her you want to buy her something nice and that you want to do it together.

Other Gifts:

There is no rule that your Valentine's Day gift has to be heart shaped, red/pink or traditional. I don't recommend buying her a blender or cordless drill, but if there is something that she has really been checking out and you can afford it, then show her that you have been paying attention and go for it.

Travel:

Many places offer weekend specials for Valentine's Day, but often are booked well in advance. As an alternative, plan a weekend away at a different time and give this to her as a gift over your Valentine's Day dinner.

Proposals:

OK, we saved this one for last because it is a big one. For some reason, the multitudes feel that proposing on Valentine's Day is the thing to do. In case you couldn't tell from this article, I am encouraging you to think out of the box. Valentine's Day proposals have come to be expected. Why not be different, propose at a random time and really surprise her. However, if you feel that you must succumb to the pressure, do it right. Follow all of our tips above and crank them up a notch. Again, be creative but classy. You want her to remember this special time.

So here you are at the end of the article and about ready to chuck in the towel. Don't! We know you can do it. Take a deep breath, do not wait until the last minute and if it all seems a bit too overwhelming, call in help. Use your resources and make this a truly special day that is only the beginning of a truly special year of romance. If you don't want to take our word for it, here is another reference to the holiday at hand from MSN and match.com.

When couples are trying to decide what to be for Halloween. The decision is usually left up to the female. The only problem is the female wants to be something funny and cute that says were a couple and the man well he's a man. So getting them into the costume the woman chooses for him may not be so easy.

But here are a few great ideas and ways you can get your man to wear that Halloween costume. Your best chance to get this done is to compromise a little bit and choose something that is more manly. One great idea would be for you to go as a wench and for him to be your pirate. This way you can dress in hot and sexy dress and boustie and well him . Argh what man would want to be a pirate.

Another great idea is to go as a saloon girl and him to go as a cowboy. This way you can wear cowboy shirt and jeans. Along with six shooter and manly cowboy hat and you can dress as a hot slutty saloon girl, wearing high heeled boots, a knee-high dress and a sexy slip underneath.

More great ways to show your a couple is you can go dressed up as a sexy lion, and he could be your lion tamer with a whip. You don't think that would get him excited, one the most important things When you're trying to come up for a costume ideas for couples is to remember that being cute is great, and stupid well is stupid. And you don't want to make your man feel that way .

If you prefer, there is a more traditional costumes such as Jack and Jill. You can really get into it by having both of you carry pails and writing Jack and Jill on the back of each other shirts. Jack can go with a broken crown and Jill you can wear some short shirts ant tie your shirt in front. And then really dress it up by having tons of blood pouring from Jack head, and Jill should be all bruised up from tumbling down after him.

Just remember for him nothing really too fussy, and something that fits them comfortably. If you do this. You can even use the staples such as a Playboy bunny and Hef, a French maid, and his Butler or even a Football player and a hot high school cheerleader.

As long as he feels a little manly in his costume when you're not standing right by his side you should have no problem getting them into something cute and funny. Good Luck

The Mayans and Aztecs were two ancient people groups of Southern Mexico and Guatemala. What did they have to do with the history of Easter? This is where chocolate originated, and tied to the history of chocolate Easter confections provides a rich holiday legacy.

The Mayans and Aztecs discovered that the seeds of the cacao tree can be processed into chocolate. These early peoples mixed the ground cacao seeds with spices to create a beverage. The Aztecs used cacao seeds as money, and they exacted cacao seeds from their citizens and their conquered. In Aztec culture, only royalty and elite could drink chocolate, but in Mayan culture more people had access to chocolate. Both cultures used chocolate as religious offerings and during sacred rituals.

Spanish conquistadors, after exploring Mexico, brought the seeds with them back to Spain, and the cacao seeds eventually spread all over Europe. It was in Europe that the ground cacao seeds were mixed with sugar, and a new taste sensation was born. At this time in Europe only the rich could afford to drink chocolate.

The Industrial Revolution brought modern technology to the making of chocolate, and it was at this time that technology made it possible for chocolate to be eaten in its solid form. It could also be mass produced, making it more accessible to a wider audience. Even today machines are used to sort and clean the seeds, then weigh them. After this they are roasted and cleaned still further. At this point they get ground and through this process they are liquefied, then separated into cocoa solids and cocoa butter. Although each chocolate manufacturer has their own specific recipes for making chocolate, they all essentially mix together chocolate liquor, sugar, condensed milk and cocoa butter to create chocolate crumb. The crumb is pressed and forms chocolate paste, which is then blended in a large vat. At this stage, the chocolate is heated and cooled several times to temper it, making is shiny. After it is tempered, it can be poured into molds, forming all the familiar shapes in which chocolate comes. It can also be poured over flavored centers or the shaped chocolate can be filled with liquid. Finally, a machine is used to package the chocolate for sale.

The first solid chocolate Easter eggs were created in Germany and France around 1800. After this came the formation of hollow chocolate eggs, and with modern machines that could mass produce the confections, over time they became one of the best-loved Easter confections around the globe. To satisfy our worldwide sweet tooth requires the manufacture of ninety million chocolate Easter bunnies every year. Today's Easter baskets, filled with Easter gifts, are a chocolate-filled holiday tradition.

Flags aren't just for pride in our countries any more - many people are choosing to display them for holidays and other special occasions, too. That means that there's a wide variety of holiday flags available, from Valentine's Day and Easter flags to Thanksgiving and Christmas, and everything that comes in between. Here are some of the options you'll see in the most popular holiday flags on the market.

New Year's Flags are getting more popular, and tend to be mostly party oriented. Some can be reused year after year, but others have the date printed or sewn on them. You may also see patriotic New Year's flags, featuring the Stars and Stripes in various arrangements. You can order custom flags and choose from many sizes and colors. For other cultures that don't celebrate the traditional January 1st New Year, there are still New Year's flags. Chinese New Year flags and ones for other cultures are also available.

Valentine's Day Flags are flown in early February, once thought to be the beginning of birds' mating season. Hearts are an ever popular choice, but you'll see Cupid flags, balloon patterns, arrows and roses. For those who want to fly a seasonal flag but aren't happy about the holiday, there are broken heart flags. You'll see Valentine's day flags at parties, on homes, or even in a restaurant for the occasion.

St. Patrick's Day Flags are also popular. They come in every shade of green, and feature emblems and designs that people associate with the Irish. That means you'll see pots of gold and leprechauns, rainbows, shamrocks, and other symbols, as well as the Irish National flag. These flags will be flown both inside and outside, in parades on St. Patrick's day, on people's homes, and in pubs and bars.

Easter Flags are another popular choice, whether they're secular or religious. You'll see rabbits and chicks, Easter eggs, lilies, spring items and other symbols on flags. These are fun flags to display at kids' parties, or just because you're happy to see Spring. For those who prefer a strong religious statement, crosses and other more traditional Easter symbols are also available for display. They'll remind passers by that Easter isn't just about chocolate.

Flags for the Fourth of July are also available. Not all of them are just the American flag. You can find various historical versions of this flag, as well as fireworks flags, flags with the Stars and Stripes in different arrangements, and other patriotic designs to fly proudly.

Thanksgiving Flags are seeing a rise in popularity, both indoors and outside. You'll find flags with pilgrims, the Mayflower, and native Americans on them, flags featuring the cornucopia or other fall harvest symbols, scarecrows, turkeys, and lots of flags with food designs. These can be seen during Thanksgiving Day parades, or just on the front porches of people who are enjoying their Thanksgiving dinner.

Christmas is a season for flags, too. Like Easter, it's developed its own secular symbols, in addition to the religious ones. That means you'll see crosses and nativity flags, as well as holly and ivy. You may see Christmas tree flags, candy cane flags, Santa and his reindeer, snowmen, Christmas lights, and lots more.

Maverick 1 1/2 Inch Knee High Pirate Boot With Cuff Brown Halloween Costume Pleaser MENS SIZING

Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings Everyone.

I called a former colleague and wished him Happy Holidays. He corrected me and said Merry Christmas--and that he appreciated that I was trying to be 'Politically Correct.'

It's not a matter of being politically correct.

I suggest inclusiveness, respecting all traditions and people who celebrate this time of year, that's what's important here. I prefer the term Positively Respectful.

Christians do not own this season or the sacredness of it. Long before Christians, pagan nature-based peoples and traditions were honoring and celebrating the Winter Solstice - the darkest day of the year, and rejoicing in the beginnings of new light to brighten the days following. Our Jewish neighbors celebrated Hanukkah long before Christians came along also. Christians honor Christmas as the birthday of a man named Jesus, historically the son of Jewish parents and whose lifestyle Christians try to follow. Having studied religions, I know it is no coincidence that Christmas happens to be celebrated very close to the Winter Solstice. Other people honor this time as sacred also.

All religion aside, many simply celebrate this season because something inside calls them to rekindle a sense of childhood wonder and magic, to remember a time when they believed in a kind-hearted, generous soul called Santa; to be open to the possibility that sometimes miracles happen, and that sometimes we can make them happen for somebody else. For those who catch the spirit, there's something more playful, fun, and lighter in the world.

So yes, I honor, value, and appreciate all of that--the fun and festivities, the wonderful spirits who celebrate the season, and those who add more joy to the world these days. To each of you, Happy Holidays and blessings to all.

Retro Groove Dress Sexy Adult Halloween Costume 60s 70s Go Go Dancer Disco Bohemian Hippie Outfit

Go-Go Vixen Dress

This Item Includes: Retro Paisley Print Keyhole Dress

{{LegAvenueSizes}}
Customer Review: Very cute- but runs small
This costume is very cute and looks just as pictured. But I'm glad I knew Halloween costumes tended to run small and this one is no exception. I am usually a size M in ladies and ordered an XL. It fit, but quite snugly. Also it is VERY short. I realize that is the style of the 70s but I had to wear a black skirt with it in order to feel comfortable. But the print is bright and fun.

Here are some Christmas Holidays from around the world. If you haven't decided what to do for this Holiday Season you might find some inspiration here.

Visiting a major City at Christmas can be a very exciting holiday for a couple or a family. There will be plenty to do and sights to see. Two favourite destinations at Christmas are New York City or on the other side of the Atlantic is London, England.

London is of course a world famous city to start with. There are an amazing number of sights to see even before you start looking at all the special events for Christmas. After the regular sightseeing, Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, The Crown Jewels, The London Eye, etc you can settle down and plan which festive sights to see in the run up to Christmas itself.

No visit to London is complete without a visit to the West End to enjoy a show at one of its famous Theatres. While there you might even try a visit to a Pantomime which is a traditional British Christmas event.

Shopping is a major event in all cities at Christmas time and London is no exception. The lights and window displays in Regent Street and Oxford Street are worth a visit in themselves add all the wonderful stores and restaurants and you have a great day out.

There are Christmas Trees to see, Christmas Markets and Fairs, museums, galleries, attractions, restaurants, palaces and castles, parks and zoos and so much more. London would be a fabulous city in which to spend Christmas.

New York is one of the most exciting places in the world. Christmas in New York must rank highly as a favourite destination. First class hotels and restaurants. Fabulous shopping. An abundance of attractions from the Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty to museums, galleries, historic sites,Ellis Island, Wall Street, Central Park and so much more. There are fine restaurants, theaters, clubs and bars all dressed up for Christmas and ready to give you the time of your life.

Niagara Falls, Canada is another fabulous place for a Christmas Holiday. The Festival of Light is held during the Christmas Season. Niagara Falls and the surrounding area is transformed into an illuminated winter wonderland to the delight of the expected 1.3 million visitors. In addition to the illuminated Falls, there are 125 animated lighting displays and 3 million tree and ground lights along the 5Km of the Niagara Parkway. These imaginative displays include the world's largest Canadian Flag, Disney Classics and "Twas the Night before Christmas," an audio-visual spectacular. There are also the firework displays over the mighty falls. This is in addition to the already beautiful and exciting Falls themselves and the other Niagara Falls attractions. The "Maid of the Mist" boat trip, the Daredevil Museum, the Skylon Tower, the Cirque Niagara, Aquarium, Museums, shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and family attractions. This is a year round favourite holiday destination for honeymooners, couples and families but Christmas in Niagara Falls is an extra special experience.

Europe has some marvelous places in which to spend Christmas. Paris for a romantic Christmas. Lapland for an exciting children's Christmas visiting Santa Claus. Sweden and its Ice Hotel for a very adventurous Christmas. The ski resorts of Austria for a traditional white Christmas, with skiing, snowboarding, log fires, mulled wine and delicious food.

Or you could chose a very untraditional Christmas and head for the sun. Australia has Christmas during its summer. All the festivities and sunshine, sandy beaches and a barbeque thrown in.

Finally right down to the bottom of the world. How about Antarctica for a Christmas adventure. Stay aboard an ice breaker and learn all about Antarctica and its wildlife. This would be a truly different way to spend Christmas, watching penguins at play and possibly seals and whales too, seeing magnificent icebergs and the awe inspiring scenery of the Antarctic.

From shopping for Christmas presents in a busy city to watching the sun set over the snow and ice there are so many wonderful and exciting places to visit around the world this Christmas.

Adult's Hundred Dollar Bill Halloween Costume

Halloween Invitations for Your Scary Halloween Party!

As children, most of us fondly remember dressing up in scary costumes and going door to door begging for candy. We didn't really worry about party Halloween Invitations then because we had plenty to keep us occupied as we strolled through the neighborhood and snacked on our haul of treats. Today, more families are looking for safe alternatives to trick or treating. Sending out costume cards and planning some great Halloween ideas for kids can be a way to still make the holiday fun. Here are some possible games you might want to include in your post-Halloween invite plans.

Green Apple Finding & Halloween Invitations

To play this Halloween game, you'll need a dozen red apples and one green apple, plus some string and a tree. Fix the apples so they can be hung from the branches of the tree. Now you'll blindfold each of the kids one at a time, spin them around a few times and send each of them to pick an apple from the tree. Repeat the process until each of the kids has their own apple. The Halloween party invitation recipient who finds the green apple wins a prize. Since this is Halloween, candy is always a good choice. You could also give a caramel or candy apple as a Halloween prize.

Become the Mummy & Halloween Stationary

This can be a fun game for all ages. If you're working with younger kids, you might want to divide the group into pairs and pass out only one roll of toilet paper to each set. With older children, you should consider diving them into groups of three and giving each group two rolls of toilet paper. The idea is to wrap one of the team members like a mummy using all of the toilet paper. Whichever team uses all of their paper first is the winner. The game is fun but also requires teamwork so it's useful in many ways. You might even want to send out Halloween cards or custom Holiday Invitations with a mummy theme if you like the idea of making this game a focal point of your event.

Digging Through the Dirt & Personalized Halloween Party Invitations

Send Halloween Invitations Cards to younger kids who won't be self-conscious about getting dirty and making fools of themselves in front of their friends if you want to play this game. First, you'll want to make a good load of "dirt" which is really just crushed chocolate sandwich cookies. Generic cookies are a good choice since taste is going to matter and you'll want to get several bags. Plus, you'll want to load up on the whipped cream. If you can make your own, that's a good way to save money. Next, purchase a supply of gummy worms. Divide up the "dirt" and whipped topping mixture evenly for each guest and add the same number of gummy worms to each. Have the kids dig through the crushed cookies to find all of the worms without using their hands. It's definitely not a scary Halloween game!

Trying any or all of these games is a great way to make your guests happy they responded to your unique Halloween party invitations and printed Holiday Invitations.

Alice In Wonderland Queen Of Heart Halloween Costume

Leg Avenue 3PC Alice in Wonderland Queen of Hearts Sexy Halloween Party CostumeIncludes Crown, Collared Petticoat Dress, and Matching Thigh Highs. Does Not Include: Flamingo Purse.

Loosen the string and tune up to the correct note. In other words your string should be well below the correct pitch and only then do you begin to tighten. That way you avoid breakage by tightening the string too much. Listen carefully to make sure the two pitches match and that there is no wah-wah-wah or clashing sound between the two notes.

First of all we shall look at the standard tuning of bass guitars.

On a 7-string bass a high F-string is added. The settings on a 7-string bass are B-E-A-D-G-C-F where B is the lowest and F the highest.

Tuning your bass is not hard. But as with any other instrument it involves practice. And of course, practice makes perfect. After a while you may find that you do not even have to rely on an electronic tuner to tune your bass. Hope you found this guide useful. Good luck.

How to Tune a Bass Guitar

So how do you tune your bass?

On a five string bass the tunings are similar with the addition of a low B string.

Now all you have to do is match the pitch of the strings to the corresponding notes on your tuner. Hopefully your ears are sufficiently developed (musically), for you to hear this. When the note on your bass is the same as that of your tuner, the vibration patterns will match and you will hear no wah-wah-wah sound when you play the two notes. There will be no clash between the two notes.

As long as the notes are in sync, you will hear no wah-wah-wah sound. But if you pass the in tune point, you will begin to hear that undesired sound again, and it means that you will have to loosen on the string a little until you get back to the in tune point.

Tune all your strings one by one by matching the sound of the strings to the corresponding note on your tuner.

Tuning your bass is all about matching the pitch of your instrument to that of a bass guitar tuner, pitch pipe, tuning fork or a correctly tuned piano or keyboard. If you do not have a tuner or keyboard instrument, you can find an online tuner by doing a search.

This material seeks to answer your question on how to tune a bass guitar. Well since I don't know exactly how many strings are on your bass guitar I shall present you with different options, namely, 4-string, 5 string, 6 string, and 7 string basses.

On a six string bass guitar, a thinner (higher pitched) string is added, and is tuned to C. In other words on a 6 string bass guitar the settings are B-E-A-D-G-C, where B is the fattest string or lowest note and C the highest and thinnest.

Dragonsaurus Toddler Dragon Halloween Costume Size 2-4 (B926)

Includes: Plush jumpsuit with attached hands and shoe covers. Available in Toddler (Size 2-4)

Nowadays the third Monday in February is usually known as Presidents' Day, a holiday honoring two great American presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Today's modern holiday has some pretty humble roots and plenty of interesting American tidbits.

George Washington was actually born on 11 February 1731. How could that be? Everyone knows his birthday is 22 February. When Washington was born, the colonies were using the Julian calendar, which was eleven days behind the Gregorian calendar. In 1752, Britain and the colonies switched to the Gregorian calendar, moving Washington's Birthday to 22 February.

George Washington distinguished himself as an American patriot in the Revoluntary war. He even created the Purple Heart, a medal recognizing soldiers who had been injuried in battle. His leadership, courage, and valor earned him the nickname, "The Founder of his Country." Washington was the Electoral College's only choice to be the first president of the United States.

During Washington's last year as president, his birthday became the holiday known as "Washington's Birthday," but it wasn't until 1885 when President Chester A. Arthur finally signed legislation making it a federal holiday.

Abraham Lincoln was born on 12 February 1809 and distinguished himself as the president who preserved the United States during the Civil War. Many states honor Lincoln by celebrating his birthday as a state holiday. Connecticut still celebrates Lincoln's birthday as a state holiday regardless of what day it falls on. Lincoln, however, has never had his birthday celebrated on the federal level.

In 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Bill, designating Washington's federal holiday to be celebrated on the third Monday in February. The intent of the bill was to move the holiday to Monday to promote business, but it wasn't until the late 1980's when businesses began using the "Presidents' Day" tag to lure consumers into the stores. Since then, the informal label has stuck and the official "Washington's Birthday," has been known to the general public as Presidents' Day.

Several states have taken liberties with the holiday. For example, Massachusetts not only celebrates Washington's birthday, but also issues a proclamation honoring past presidents from the state including John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Calvin Coolidge, and John F. Kennedy. Alabama celebrates "Washington and Jefferson Day." (Thomas Jefferson) Arkansas celebrates "George Washington's Birthday and Daisy Gatson Day."

The senate has its own traditions as well. Since 1862, George Washington's farewell address is read on or around his birthday.

While the holiday has been expanded in recent years to include other presidents, the intent to honor Washington, and after the Civil War, Lincoln, still resounds through American society.

The Miami Ink Low Rider Adult Costume may not have been your very first choice outfit for Halloween but it's certainly got that feel of shock and horror when you take your first look at it.

As a theme, Miami Ink will be popular for the reason it has a large worldwide audience who have become addicted to the reality TV show when it first surfaced in 2005. In this article, we want to give you some tips on making the most of the popular television theme and adapt some possibilities so you can steer clear of copycat costumes at your fancy dress party.

Miami Ink Halloween Theme Ideas

With the Low Rider Adult Costume you achieve the essence of being both tough looking and more importantly, cool. Have you ever had the desire to be a biker chic? Well, don't tell us because it may send your mom into a spin but here are some ideas you can adopt for Halloween using the theme from the popular television reality show.

1. Have you got leather mini-skirt? Mini-skirts are the essential first component of a low rider outfit and they need to be black. This is one area where you can save yourself a few bucks if you have one gathering dust in your closet.

2. A matching black bra is a must. Again, it should preferably be leather. Then add a red belt which compliments the black skirt perfectly.

3. Now here is the tough part. Finding a flesh colored shirt and imprinting some artwork on it. Scouring the second-hand stores is going to be your best bet and you're likely to come up with several shirts. Then get hold of a black leather head-band for more effect.

4. Now for the most important component of all. Your very own biker dude to take you the fancy dress party. In fact, you could organize a group of friends and adopt the biker look. One of the best parts of a theme such as this is it can be very inexpensive to produce but can be extremely effective.

The accent is on being cool but in the same breath, you want to make a statement. The Miami Ink look will give you the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Halloween is a great time of year, enjoyed by so many families. However it can be a busy holiday and with excitement running high and increased commotion it is worth taking a step back to ensure you are making it a safe Halloween for all your family.

Costumes & Outfits

Ensure purchased costumes and wigs are flame proof.

Reduce the risk of falls and trips, by ensuring your child's costume is cut to a suitable length.

If your child is venturing out in the evening, be aware of the temperature drop and ensure their costumes are going to be sufficient.

Trick or Treat

The safest way to trick or treat is to visit family and friends.

When trick or treating outside of your friends & family circle, ensure you map a route and where possible get a sensible adult to supervise the group.

Small children should not be allowed out unsupervised.

Elder children that are unsupervised should be given a set time for their return and where possible, should be collected as a group from a suitable meeting point.

Make sure your children understand not to go into strangers homes. Also point out they should not accept lifts or get into strangers cars.

Trick or treat in larger groups. Ensure all members of your party understand the rules you have set out for them.

When moving around the neighbourhood remind your children to be extra vigilant about traffic. Small neighbourhood roads can be dangerous areas for children not paying attention.

Explain the difference between vandalism and tricks! It is very easy for children to get caught up in the moment or respond to peer pressure. Think of your trick ideas before you set off!

Check your child's treats before they consume!

Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is not suitable for small children. If you are worried and want to avoid disappointment, why not buy a prop pumpkin instead?

If using candles/ flames within your pumpkin ensure they are kept well away from hanging materials, never leave unattended and ensure children understand the dangers they carry.

Pets

With the increased flow of persons around your neighbourhood it is advisable to keep pets in on Halloween.

Make sure all lanterns and decorations are kept away from pets.

Trick or Treaters may result in you opening and closing your front door more than normal. If your pet is likely to be disturbed, keep them enclosed in one peaceful area.

As a general rule, pets don't enjoy being dressed up! It may seem cute but leave Halloween for you and your children.

Take care this Halloween, follow a few simple rules for your family's safety and have fun!

Grease - Danny's T-Bird Jacket Deluxe

Includes on T-Bird jacket, available in One-Size fits most adults.

Decorating your Thanksgiving table can be a breeze - and you don't have to invest a lot of time or money to do it!

Table decorations provide a quick and easy way to set a festive scene for your Thanksgiving dinner. But maybe you don't want to spend a lot of money or take a lot of time to make these seasonal accents. Just use these ideas to turn your Thanksgiving table into a beautiful, welcoming feast.

Bountiful Wreath

Making your own Thanksgiving wreath can not only save you some money, but it also lets you have fun creating a truly unique decorating piece. You can use this wreath beginning in September, right through Thanksgiving.

The basics you'll need are a grapevine wreath and a glue gun, which are both readily available at crafts stores. Once you have those, you'll need to decide how you'd like to decorate the wreath. Popular options are ribbon, pine cones, faux mini pumpkins or gourds, Indian corn and artificial flowers. Browsing the aisles at a crafts store will yield lots of ideas - and don't be afraid to use your imagination!

Once you've gathered all of the materials, find a large, flat working surface. Lay out all of the items so you can find them at a glance. Begin by gluing pumpkins, Indian corn, gourds, pine cones and such onto the grapevine wreath. If you are using flowers, tuck those into empty spaces. Remember, the more flowers or leaves you use, the fuller your wreath will look. If you want to use ribbon, add it to your wreath last. Tie it into a large bow and add glue from your glue gun to the back before adding it to your wreath. Now you're ready to enjoy it on your door or wall!

Cornucopia

A cornucopia is always a timeless choice for Thanksgiving decorating. Simply purchase a simple cornucopia basket from a crafts store and then fill it with real fruits and gourds or plastic fruit and gourds, whichever you prefer. Try adding faux sugared grapes and fabric vines to complete the bountiful look.

Pretty Pumpkin

Want to use a real pumpkin to create a centerpiece? It's easier than you might think! Simply cut the top off of a pumpkin and clean it out as you would when preparing a jack-o'-lantern. Let the pumpkin sit exposed to air for about 2 hours to dry. Soak floral foam in water and then place it inside the pumpkin. Now you can add real or artificial flowers by pushing the stems into the foam, trimming the stems first to the height you wish. If using real flowers, be sure to water and add plant food every other day.

Ga-Ga for Gourds

If you're looking for an easy way to decorate that draws on the beauty of nature, simply arrange mini gourds and pumpkins on a pretty tray and add a fragrant candle or two to the center

Pumpkin Place Cards

Place cards add a festive touch to Thanksgiving dinners. There are many ways to make these, but one of the fastest ways is to write each guests' name on a mini pumpkin. During the meal, these spunky place cards do double duty as decorations, and after the meal, each guest has a little memento to keep.

Even if you're on a tight budget or pressed for time, there are simple ways you can decorate your Thanksgiving table that will leave a lasting impression.
